Ontario or British Columbia?

The province of incorporation is part of the corporate profile. It does not create a separate FINTRAC license or, by itself, decide where the business may operate.

Choose between companies by reviewing the complete corporate, regulatory, financial, historical, banking, and operating picture. Province is one factor in that assessment.

Decide How Much History You Want to Acquire

A new company

A brand-new company with no prior customer transactions gives the buyer a company without an inherited customer transaction book. It does not establish that the entity has no tax filings, contracts, expenses, regulatory correspondence, corporate obligations, or other liabilities. Those points still require review.

A previously operated company

A company with prior activity may include experience, records, systems, accounts, contracts, customers, or provider relationships. It may also carry historical obligations and risks. Determine exactly what operated, for whom, at what volumes, through which accounts and providers, and with what reporting and compliance history.

The better choice depends on the buyer's objective, risk tolerance, implementation plan, and the evidence available for the specific company.

Our Completion Standard for Pending Public Listings

FINTRAC states that its public MSB registry is updated monthly. A newly confirmed company may therefore receive registration correspondence before its entry becomes visible in the searchable public registry.

For an opportunity described as awaiting public visibility:

  2. 02The company remains clearly labeled as not yet visible in the public registry.

  4. 04The sale is not completed until the company appears with registered status in the public registry.
  5. 05All other transaction conditions and applicable requirements still need to be satisfied.

One Destination for the Company-Level Details

The four profiles help you identify the category you need. The current inventory page is where you can review the individual companies currently offered, see their asking prices and stated attributes, and submit an acquisition inquiry.

This structure keeps current inventory in one place and prevents old prices or sold companies from remaining on multiple websites.

Marketplace Questions

Why are individual prices not shown here?

This page explains the company categories. Current prices and company-specific information are maintained on the central inventory page so buyers see the latest available information in one place.

Are the companies “approved” by FINTRAC?

The accurate term is registered. FINTRAC states that registration does not mean it endorses or licenses the business. Each company's current public status should be checked.

Does RPAA registration appear in FINTRAC's registry?

No. FINTRAC and Bank of Canada registration are separate. The Bank of Canada maintains information concerning payment service providers under the RPAA.

Can I reserve a newly registered company before it appears publicly?

You may inquire about an upcoming opportunity. The terms of any preliminary arrangement require specific agreement, and the sale will not be completed until the company appears as registered in FINTRAC's public registry.

Are both provinces represented among FINTRAC and RPAA-registered opportunities?

The owner has stated that the current opportunity set includes both Ontario and British Columbia companies with these registration positions. Confirm the available individual companies in the current inventory because it changes.

Where do I make an inquiry?

All acquisition inquiries are handled through the current inventory page.
